Delivery: quarantine test for adaptability successfully passed
The first half of 2020 for Delivery was full of fast changes caused by global quarantine. In order to ensure safety of customers and employees, all departments were provided with personal protective equipment and disinfectants. During this period, we didn't fire any employee and didn’t close any branches. Instead, 59 new ones have been opened and now Delivery has 401 satellite and partner offices.
The first half of 2020 became a favorable period for the company to grow both in terms of cargo and cash flow. The structure of cargo turnover continues dominating by the transportation of goods over 30 kg and pallets (an increase of over 10% and 6%, respectively in comparison with the same period last year). The results of our work once again confirm that Delivery is still holding leadership positions on the market of logistics services for the B2B sector (business entities and corporate business). In the second quarter of 2020, during the period of strict quarantine, the average weight of shipments decreased slightly and amounted to 270 kg per customer. But at the same time, the average number of shipments per day increased by 8%. At this period that we standardized the terms of cargo delivery - increased the number of flights and improved transportation routes. Thus, the timeliness of the arrival of cargo at the branch increased by 7.5%. Our clients receive cargoes in 24, 48, 72 hours depending on the direction of transportations.
Simple and efficient work of the center of reception of orders and address delivery of cargo was also introduced. Were implemented automatic creation of orders for cargo collection for regular customers, which increased the number of orders by 40% compared to last year. Thanks to the internal reforms of the company, we managed to halve the share of cargo loss and reduce the share of damage during transportation by 30%. That as reduced the number of complaints from our customers by more than 50%. Undoubtedly, we continue to implement qualitative changes to achieve zero indicators in this direction. However, as before, our clients have the opportunity to fully or partially insure cargo in IС "QUORUM", which in 2019 took 8th place among insurance companies in Ukraine according to the rating of the magazine "Insurance TOR" for voluntary cargo insurance. Thus, for the two quarters of 2020, we observed a significant increase (+16.8%) in the structure of full cargo insurance.
The result of the introduction of changes in the provision of logistics and financial services was an increase in the number of branches that provide the service "Cash on delivery" to 115 throughout Ukraine. The cost of the service is still the lowest on the market - only 10 UAH + 2% of the amount of postage.
Also was introduced a new service "Secure Deal" - a favorite service of online stores throughout Ukraine, which allows the recipient to view the goods before payment, and the sender to receive payment immediately to your current account. This service is already available in all branches of Delivery.
Changes also took place in the company's tariff system: tires of various sizes for heavy-duty vehicles, tractors and agricultural machinery were added to the AvtoPrice industry tariff.
